India Fest is a vibrant celebration of Indian culture, bringing the richness of its music, dance, cuisine and craftsmanship to various cities across Brazil. Through performances, workshops, and interactive experiences, the festival fosters culture and tradition exchange and deepens the appreciation of India’s culture and traditions in local communities.
Experience India Day (EID) is a SVCC immersive cultural initiative, designed to introduce students to the richness of Indian heritage. Through a series of engaging activities, participants explore various aspects of Indian culture, history and traditions.
The event typically features interactive lectures that provide insights into India’s historical and cultural legacy, allowing attendees to deepen their understanding of the country. Workshops and presentations such as yoga, tabla, and classical Indian dance offer a hands-on experience, while guided meditation and discussions on holistic Indian traditions further enhance the learning process.
The event serves as a platform for academic and educational opportunities as well. Presentations on scholarship programs provide students with valuable information about studying in India, fostering stronger educational ties.
Inspired by the ICCR approach to creating a positive narrative of New India and also promoting effective cultural and public diplomacy, it is important that India, more specifically Emerging New India, reaches out to a wider audience such as intellectuals, influencers, opinion leaders, researchers and the new young generation of librarians are good platforms for this.
Looking at these goals, SVCC has conceived and developed an innovative project called #IndiaInYourLibrary.
Through this project, we reach out to various Libraries in Brazil and suggest to them a bibliography for India and gift them some books. We have already reached 15 libraries.
SVCC project #CampusConnect strengthens academic and cultural ties between India and universities. Now functional in 23 universities, the initiative highlights India’s diversity and promotes educational exchanges, enriching and connecting the academic community with SVCC.
The “Bloco India Bollywood” reached the wonderful city of Rio de Janeiro, mixing the vibrant styles and dances of India, especially Bollywood, as the local film industry is known. The event was an initiative of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC) in partnership with the CGI, Hon CG Rio, Empolga and Friends of India Association.
