The term Yoga originates from the Sanskrit root “yuj”, which means to combine. It combines and integrates body, mind and soul for well-being and spiritual elevation. Therefore, in larger contexts, Yoga unites cultures and people too. At the last “Summit Saúde” Congress, it was estimated that, in Brazil, more than 5 million people practice this ancient technique in search of integration. In addition to institutions internationally recognized for their dedication to the dissemination of Yoga, such as the Narayana Yoga Study Center (São Paulo – SP), the Naradeva Shala Institute (São Paulo – SP), the Sivanada DLS Institute (São Paulo – SP), we also have renowned personalities devoted to promoting Yoga, such as professor Marcos Rojo Rodrigues, who recently received the Prime Minister’s Award for Outstanding Contribution towards Development and Promotion of Yoga. However, a platform to connect all the above to each other and with India is still not existing.
With this in mind, SVCC created the YogaNet project, whose objective is to network the Yoga practitioners, researchers and teaching community in Brazil, providing a platform for creating knowledge, updating skills and capacity building along with sharing cutting-edge scientific research.
