Message from H.E. Shri Dinesh Bhatia, Ambassador of India to Brazil
"My dear Brazilian brothers and sisters,
The practice of Yoga available to India or Bharat since thousands of years, has, in recent past, surpassed the geographical boundaries and spread to each and every country.
Brazil, with a distance of nearly 15,000 km from India, boasts of a large community of Yoga practitioners. According to an estimate, there are over five million Brazilians who practice one or the other form of Yoga on a regular basis. This Embassy, along with Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre at São Paulo, a Cultural Centre of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) established in 2011, has been working to promote Yoga across the length and breadth of Brazil – India’s Strategic Partner.
In order to achieve the above objective, we have embarked upon a unique and ambitious project, YogaNet, a national platform designed to connect the Yoga community in Brazil. The objective is to make available the knowledge about the millennial practice of Yoga and its potential to contribute to our daily lives in a holistic form leading to physical, mental and spiritual well-being. It assumes even more importance in today’s world of conflicts and fast-paced lifestyles where all of us crave for inner peace, wisdom and liberation.
I am, therefore, delighted to present to you all our new website under the title of YogaNet. Interestingly, it epitomises the very essence of Yoga, i.e., to unite. It aims to not only unite Yoga practitioners but also provide the information in a united and comprehensive manner.
In this context, I am compelled to add that Shri Narendra Modi ji, Prime Minister of India, while speaking on the occasion of 11th International Day of Yoga on 21 June 2025, highlighted Yoga’s role in uniting humanity, as it transcends all barriers, boundaries, and backgrounds. He also described it as a “pause button” for humanity, allowing us to rebalance and become whole again. Indeed, the civilizational values of India promote the concepts of oneness and the integral development of both the individual and the collective—a journey from Me to We.
YogaNet aims to, inter-alia, promote, deepen and broaden our understanding of the philosophy behind “One Earth, One Health” and oneness with nature, helping us realize our full potential for development and sustainability.
Through the latest research and developments in Yoga and Ayurveda, and their connection with the traditional knowledge systems of India, YogaNet would link Brazil with upgraded knowledge in these and related fields. It would provide tools, space and a virtual environment for Yoga practitioners to connect, network and advance their skills and capacities.
I sincerely believe that this initiative would also strengthen the cultural connection between India and Brazil. I hope Brazilians would make the best use of YogaNet and engage with it with full support and appreciation."

Message from Shri Hansraj Singh Verma, General Consul of India in São Paulo
"I extend my best wishes and heartiest congratulations to the Swami Vivekanand Cultural Centre ( SVCC), São Paulo, on the launch of a dedicated Yoga Website for Brazil — a visionary initiative that brings together Yoga teachers, schools, and enthusiasts across Brazil onto one dynamic platform.
This digital space not only celebrates the ancient wisdom of Yoga but also strengthens the growing community that shares a commitment to health, harmony, and holistic well-being. By uniting diverse practitioners and institutions, the website fosters greater collaboration, learning, and outreach, truly embodying the spirit of “Yoga for All.” As Yoga continues to inspire lives across the world, this platform will serve as a valuable resource to guide, connect, and support those walking the path of self-awareness and inner peace.
The Consulate General of India proudly supports this meaningful endeavor and commends the SVCC, São Paulo for its continued efforts in promoting India’s spiritual heritage and the timeless relevance of Yoga in today’s world."
“Hello, dear friends on the path of Yoga. I hope to find you all happy and healthy on this joyful occasion of the launch of the YogaNet website. It is a source of joy and a great honour to participate in this moment of fostering and disseminating Yoga in a global context, with the support and backing of the Indian Government.
We are all very welcome to this website, which will serve to strengthen ties and collaborations among us, so that we can contribute to this important mission of doing good for the society in which we live through Traditional Yoga, supported by the profound knowledge of the great rishis who developed it and by the science that corroborates it and makes it accessible and understandable to us Westerners. Hari OM!”
